Lola's getting crafty!

Hello Sweetpeas!

Mary's pal, Robert Mahar here. I'm over the top excited about the Sweetpeas & Snapshots holiday event What Lola wants...Lola gets! on November 22nd. I wanted to share a sneak peek of the crafts we'll be creating in my workshop that day.

I've recently acquired a small stash of fantastic vintage millinery goods, which we'll be making into the simple and sparking corsages seen above - with antique velvet foliage and ribbon along with beautiful glass baubles.

And then the sweet feathered friend seen below is reminiscent of vintage crepe paper crafts from the 1940s & 50s and you'll be able to personalize and create her in a wide range of color options to coordinate with your holiday decor.  You'll receive a beautifully packaged materials kit that you'll be able to transport your completed project in at the end of the class.

SO!  If you haven't already signed up for this event, let me encourage you to contact Mary asap.  This will be a full day with four crafting workshops including my own, a beautiful evening soiree with dinner and brilliant live music all hosted in a gorgeous Hollywood hills home.  Ms. Mary is pulling out all the stops on this one and there are just a few remaining spaces - I hope to see you there.

Finally...

Remember the pink pumpkins I posted in a vignette a few weeks back ?

 Well, even I didn't know the names or what kind they were...I just knew I loved them.

I received so many e-mails asking me what kind they were...I knew only one person would know...MARTHA! I was going to e-mail the magazine and ask...but guess what? That Martha is always one step ahead...In her October "Living" Issue...I opened it up and there they were....and here they are, with the answer to everyone's burning question.... Presenting Galeused'Eysines' and Marinadi Chioggia...

  Boy, were they hard to grow...Just kidding, I got them at Whole Foods. Enjoy.

Time for Tea...

That's right...Tea Time starts at 11:00am this Saturday , November 1st at Sweetpeas.

We will be creating the perfect hostess gift, just in time for the holly-jollys!   

 

Vintage baubles, wallpaper and pleated crepe paper adorn this plain 4" inch can we will be filling with lovely tea biscuits. This workshop includes a 12" run of wallpaper to line can with...plenty of scrap is left to play bake shop with...

Vibrant yellows and turquoise in this vintage napkin are the perfect color combination to accent the whimsical wallpaper and vintage crepe paper ring.

 

Top off your can with a festive banner and vintage bauble...and yes, we will be filling these beauties with shortbread while sipping pink rose tea....
